THE ANTI-SAAS MANIFESTO

We are declaring war on subscription creep.

The modern economy is designed to make you forget what you're paying for.We built the tool to help you remember.

The Origin

The $400 Mistake.

Sometimes, it takes a painful bank statement to realize you've lost control. This is the story of how SubDupes was born.

It was a Tuesday night in late 2025. We were doing a routine audit of our company expenses when we found it: a recurring charge for $39.99/month.

It was for an SEO tool we hadn't used in eight months.

We did the math. $320 gone. Vanished into the ether. Not because the tool was bad, but because we simply forgot. We forgot to cancel the trial. We forgot the login. We forgot it existed.

When we looked closer, we found more. A streaming service nobody watched ($14/mo). A cloud storage tier we didn't need ($10/mo). A duplicate project management seat ($25/mo).

"We weren't just wasting money. We were leaking it. And the entire software industry was designed to keep the leak open."

We realized that "Subscription Creep" is the silent killer of modern wealth. It’s not one big purchase that breaks the bank; it’s the death by a thousand $9.99 cuts.

Our Philosophy

The Virtue of Friction.

Why we deliberately chose not to connect to your bank account.

When we started building SubDupes, everyone told us the same thing: "You have to use Plaid. You have to connect to banks. Nobody wants to do manual work."

We disagreed.

1. Privacy is not a toggle.

Connecting a bank account means giving a third-party app read-access to every transaction you make. Your coffee runs, your medical bills, your salary. We believe a subscription tracker has no business knowing that much about you.

2. Automation breeds passivity.

When an app "automatically" finds your subscriptions, you assume it caught everything. You stop looking. You get lazy.

We built SubDupes to require conscious action. You forward a receipt. You review a renewal. You create a "Sub".

This tiny bit of friction is a feature. It forces you to look the cost in the eye and say, "Yes, this is worth it."

If it's not worth forwarding the receipt, it's not worth keeping.

Our Digital Constitution.

The three pillars that define every decision we make.

🏛️

Data Sovereignty

Your financial data is your property. In SubDupes, you are the only one who holds the keys. We store your data locally where possible and encrypted where necessary. You can export, delete, or burn it down anytime.

Sustainable Growth

We are not a hyper-growth VC startup chasing unicorn status. We are a profitable, calm company building a tool that will exist in 10 years.

We charge a fair price for a premium product. No selling data. No ads. No "pivot to AI video generation." Just a really good tracker.

User-Driven Roadmap

We build what you need. Our roadmap is public, and our Trello board is open.
